Experience includes second seating a federal civil trial and an arbitration; oral argument before Appellate Division, Second Department; preparing fact and expert witnesses for deposition and trial; participating in court conferences; preparing for and assisting in taking and defense of depositions; drafting pre-trial submissions, expert reports; drafting and responding to discovery requests; drafting pleadings, motions, briefs and appellate briefs. General litigation experience, including:
- Researching, drafting and filing motions and memoranda of law in Southern District;
- Helping to draft appellate brief in Second Circuit Court of Appeals;
- Attending depositions of co-defendants, defending client's interests through objections and cross-examination;
- Preparing client deponents for depositions;
- Participating in extensive fact discovery (document productions and reviews; organizing, summarizing and utilizing documents and deposition testimony in preparation for summary judgment motions and trial); and
- Researching and drafting legal memoranda and fact-based presentations.




General litigation experience included conducting and defending depositions, presenting oral arguments; advising clients regarding on- and offshore environmental regulatory matters; drafting and negotiating satellite insurance policies and transactions, including asset acquisition and creation of specialized insurance venture. Substantive areas of practice included commercial, maritime, environmental, insurance and reinsurance litigation, including maritime casualty and oil spill litigation.




Participated in document discovery proceedings in a complex securities litigation: interviewed client in furtherance of document collection effort; responded to document requests; prepared for depositions; assisted in efforts to comply with government subpoenas in related securities fraud investigation. Drafted legal argument for joint appellate brief of amici curlae filed with a state's highest court on behalf of various health care groups, addressing patient-physician confidentiality, the right to privacy, and a state's freedom of information law; drafted related motion. Drafted position statement to state human rights division responding to an employment discrimination claim. Researched and drafted legal memoranda.




Litigation assignments involve researching, writing legal memoranda and reviewing documents to determine privilege and responsiveness to various subpoenas. Corporate assignments involved drafting various transactional documents related to two separate initial public offerings. Presently preparing a criminal appeal and representing welfare recipient in eviction proceedings on a pro bono basis. Was employed by firm as a summer associate in the summer of 1992.

Researched and drafted various bankruptcy papers including voluntary petitions, disclosure statements, motions for debtor-in-possession financing, and numerous other issues. Extensive experience in pretrial and third-party discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, trial practice and post-trial and appellate practice. Have worked on wide variety of cases involving securities claims, antitrust, mergers and acquisitions, international business transactions, trade secret, copyright and trademark infringement. Responsible for coordinating and supervising work of team of associates and paralegals, for dealing with co-counsel, consultants and experts, and for reviewing and controlling costs and expenses associated with pretrial discovery and trial preparation. Numerous dealings with clients, including pre-filing investigation, discovery and trial preparation, participation in mediation and settlement discussions and preparation of periodic status and progress reports. Considerable deposition experience, including both deposing and preparing and defending parties, third parties and expert witnesses. Have also conducted both foreign discovery in connection with American litigation and domestic discovery in support of litigation overseas.
